Sizing
How to measure for masks, jackets, gloves, and shoes
Fencing gear runs differently from regular clothing. A mask that's 'close enough' can rock during a bout. A jacket sized like a t-shirt rides up when you lunge. The difference between a glove that grips and one that fights you is half an inch.
Here's how to measure each piece. If you're between sizes, size up — fencing gear is meant to fit snugly but not restrictively.
General sizing chart
Tim Morehouse Fencing Gear's master size chart covering masks, jackets, knickers, and lamés:

Mask sizing — measure your head
Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your head, just above the ears and across the forehead.

Glove sizing — measure your palm
Wrap a measuring tape around the palm of your dominant hand, not including the thumb. Add half an inch to the measurement — that's your glove size.
